Most influential photographer from the past and the present day?

The most influential photographer for me is Dawoud Bey. One of the things I feel he does so well is his ability to photograph anyone beautifully and with dignity. It's something that I'm always striving for in my own way.

What quote or philosophy do you live by?

Decision makers that pigeon hole your voice to a particular moment or movement--like Black history month and the Black Lives Matter movement.-- and eventually disregard it when momentum for these things slows down.

Tell us your favorite lens and how you use it.

Fujinon W 135mm f/5.6 EASILY. It's a lens I use on my 4x5 camera and I love it because it creates a fullness to portraits from versatile perspectives and controls distortion. I can also use it for still-life and landscape photographs as well and not feel out of place. If it was the only lens I could have it would be that.
